Tumblr is great, but they wouldn’t let us post downloadable links to mp3s (unless we did the annoying work of hosting it somewhere else). Additionally we could only upload one mp3 a day.
Thus, we are moving this blog over to wordpress:

Chapters 1-5 of “The History of Photogen and Nycteris” by George MacDonald
Read by Bree Patton
I’ve always loved George MacDonald’s fairy tales and fantasy stories, though he made his living by writing romance novels. He was friends with Lewis Carroll, and when Carroll first wrote “Alice In Wonderland,” he gave it to MacDonald to read to his children, not thinking it was very good. It was MacDonald’s encouragement that convinced Carroll to have Alice published, and the rest is history.
This short story is about a witch who raises two children, each ignorant of the others existence. The one is raised in the sunlight, and never allowed to see night. The other is kept in a crypt with only one small lamp, and never allowed to see daylight.
There are 20 short chapters in all, each a page or less long.

Like audio books? So do we!
Here at Listen To Your Friends, we want to share some audio books with you, but these ones are read aloud by your friends - or even you!
Just send us an mp3 of yourself reading a story that happens to be in the public domain (we don’t want to get into trouble, after all). There are several websites listing books that are public domain, such as Project Gutenberg and http://www.public-domain-content.com/ which have many stories to choose from.
Please name the title and author at the beginning or end of the audio book, and the rest is up to you! We will credit your name, and then place it here for everyone to download and listen to, free of charge.
